Recruitment in Administrative/Ministerial Sector

IIT (BHU), Varanasi, established in 2012 under an Act of Parliament, is an Institute of national importance for higher learning in the field of engineering & technology education and research. The Institute invites applications from the Indian Citizen on the prescribed format for the following non-faculty posts in Administrative/Ministerial Sector as per the Pay Band plus Grade Pay mentioned against each :

Registrar PB-4:Rs.37400-67000+GP Rs.10000/- 

  1. Essential: (1) A Master’s Degree with atleast 55% of the marks or its equivalent grade of B in the UGC seven point scale. (2) Atleast 15 years’ of experience as Assistant Professor in the AGP of Rs. 7000/- or above or with 8 years’ of service in the AGP of Rs. 8000/- and above including as Associate Professor along with experience in Educational Administration. OR Comparable experience in research establishment and/or other institutions of higher education. OR 15 years of Administrative experience of which 8 years as Deputy Registrar or an equivalent post in the Grade Pay of Rs. 7600/- and above. Relaxation of 5% marks (from 55% to 50%) will be provided at Master’s level in case of SC/ST/PD candidates.
  2. Desirable: Degree in Management or LL.B, knowledge of computer, experience of e-governance.
  3. Age limit : Preferably below 55 years as on the last date of submission of application. Relaxation of qualification for reserved category as per GOI rules. Although the post is advertised unreserved, but other things being equal, preference will be given to the candidates of reserved categories. Though the post forms part of regular vacancies, appointment to the post can also be made on Deputation or Contract Basis for a period of 5 years, renewable on mutually agreed terms. In case of deputation, benefits will be given as per Government of India norms. License fee free unfurnished accommodation on the Campus can be considered.

Deputy Registrar PB-4:Rs.15600-39100+GP Rs.7600/- 

  1. Essential: (1) A Master’s Degree with atleast 55% of the marks or its equivalent grade of B in the UGC seven point scale. (2) Nine years’ of experience as Assistant Professor in the AGP of Rs. 6000/- and above with experience in educational administration. OR Comparable experience in research establishment and/or other institutions of higher education. OR Five years’ of Administrative experience as Assistant Registrar in PB-3 and GP of Rs. 5400/- or in an equivalent post. Relaxation of 5% marks (from 55% to 50%) will be provided at Master’s level in case of SC/ST/PD candidates.
  2. Desirable: Degree in Management or LL.B., knowledge of computer, experience of e-governance.
  3. Age limit: Preferably below 55 years as on the lasst date of submission of application. Appointment on regular/standard deputation terms. In case of deputation, benefits will be given as per GOI norms.

Assistant Registrar PB-3:Rs.15600-39100+GP Rs.5400/- 

  1. Essential: Master’s Degree with atleast 55% of the marks or its equivalent of B in the UGC seven point scale, along with a good academic record. Relaxation of 5% marks (from 55% to 50%) will be provided at Master’s level in case of SC/ST/PD candidates.
  2. Desirable: Degree in Management or LL.B., knowledge of computer. Familiarity with academic working procedures in a higher technological/educational institutions and knowledge of GOI rules.
  3. Age limit: Preferably below 50 years as on the last date of submission of application. The selection process may consist of written test and interview. Appointment on regular/standard deputation terms. In case of deputation, benefits will be given as per GOI norms

Junior Assistant PB-2: Rs. 5200-20200+ GP Rs.2000/- 

  1. Essential: Bachelor’s degree with knowledge of computer office applications.
  2. Desirable: Exposure to office procedure like maintenance of files, noting, drafting, book keeping, establishment matters, legal/purchase, etc. Knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, etc.
  3. Age limit: 18 to 27 years. Relaxation in age would be admissible as per Central Government rules. Employees of IITs who are educationally qualified, can be considered for direct recruitment across the whole IIT system upto a maximum of 50 years of age. Selection process may consist of written test, computer typing test and interview, the details of which will be informed later on. Appointment on contract basis for a period of 3 years with a possibility of regularization after completion of above  period, subject to satisfactory performance.

Demand Draft should be drawn in favour of the Registrar, Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) payable at S.B.I., I.T. BHU Branch (Code 11445), Varanasi must reach the Registrar, Non-Faculty Recruitment Cell, Indian Institute of Technology (BHU), Varanasi – 221005 (India) on or before 23.09.2013.
