The Institute for Plasma Research is a premier scientific institute under the Department of Atomic Energy, Govt. of India devoted to research and development activities in the areas of basic Plasma Physics, Magnetic Confinement fusion and industrial applications of plasmas. Applications are invited from highly motivated and result oriented candidates for the posts of :

Sl.No.1 ENGINEER (PROJECT) (CIVIL) No. of Posts – 2

  1. QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE : B.E. / B.Tech. / B.Sc. (Engg.) minimum 60% in Civil Engineering.
  2. JOB DESCRIPTION : The selected candidates are required to do day to day supervision & execution of works to ensure best quality & workmanship, to co-ordinate with Contractors, Architects & Consultants, study & scrutiny of drawings, preparation of estimates including rate analysis & Tender documents, correspondence & maintaining records related to projects, Scrutiny and verification of bills including taking and recording measurements and all project related work and any other work assigned from time to time. The selected candidate will be required to work at any place in the India.

  1. QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE : B.E. / B.Tech. / B.Sc. (Engg.) minimum 60% in Instrumentation & Control Engineering.
  2. JOB DESCRIPTION: The incumbent will be required to carry out instrumentation works related data coupling from sensor mountings, camera operation, controls of various components like pumps, gauges, etc. for the project Cryoadsorption Cryopump.

  1. QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE: B.E. / B.Tech. / B.Sc. (Engg.) minimum 60% in Information Technology / Computer Science or M.Sc. (Computer Science) minimum 60% or M.C.A. minimum 60%.
  2. JOB DESCRIPTION: The selected candidate will be working on a project to develop a software package for the analysis of active spectroscopy signals observed in tokamak plasmas.

Sl.No.4 ENGINEER (PROJECT) (MECHANICAL) No. of Post – 10

  1. QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE: B.E. / B.Tech. / B.Sc. (Engg.) minimum 60% in Mechanical Engineering.
  2. JOB DESCRIPTION: The selected candidates are expected to work in various areas of detailed engineering drawing, design and analysis for UHV systems, Support structures, Jigs & Fixtures, Cryogenic systems, Metrology, Quality Control, Installation and commissioning of different systems etc. Knowledge of relevant softwares like CATIA, ANSYS, PVElite, etc. will be added advantage.

  2. JOB DESCRIPTION: The selected candidate shall be primarily engaged in the development of software and automation for the plasma diagnostic equipments. He / She will also be responsible for facilitating various project students in the laboratory and provide them technical inputs related with the purchase of equipments as required for different R&D activities.

  2. JOB DESCRIPTION: The selected candidate is expected to work in various areas signal conditioning and control for fast electronics related to Thomson scattering.

  1. QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE: M.Sc. Physics minimum 60%.
  2. JOB DESCRIPTION: The selected candidate has to develop the set up for basics plasma, laser experiments and has to carry the experiments and analyze the data. Work will involve theoretical calculation and simulations activities along with related experiments.

Sl.No.8 SCIENTIFIC ASSISTANT (PROJECT) (PHYSICS) (No. of Posts-6)

  1. QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE: B.Sc. (3 Years) minimum 60% with (Physics) as a main subject.
  2. JOB DESCRIPTION : The selected candidates will be required to assist Scientist & Engineers in carrying out tests and experiments related to vacuum systems, spectroscopy, microwaves, plasma diagnostics systems, magnet systems, etc.

Sl.No.9 TECHNICAL ASSISTANT (PROJECT) (MECHANICAL) (No. of Posts-3)

  1. QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE: Diploma in Mechanical minimum 60% from recognized University / Technical Examination Boards.
  2. JOB DESCRIPTION : The selected candidates will be expected to assist in drawing, design and fabrication for UHV systems, support structures, Jigs & Fixtures, Cryogenic systems. Knowledge of relevant drafting software like CATIA, AutoCAD, etc. will be added advantage.

Sl.No.10 TECHNICAL ASSISTANT (PROJECT) (ELECTRONICS / INSTRUMENTATION) (No. of Posts-3)

  1. QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE: Diploma in Electronics or Instrumentation minimum 60% from recognized University / Technical Examination Boards.
  2. JOB DESCRIPTION : The selected candidates will be expected to assist in maintenance / development of electronics instruments / circuits / running the Data acquisition hardware related to Data acquisition activities / related to vacuum pumping units, vacuum gauges, maintenance of discharge cleaning power supplies and components, DG sets etc. He will also assist in operation of discharge cleaning processes. He will be required to work in shifts, as and when required.

He will also assist in taking care of Safety Equipments, Fire Extinguishers, Fire Alarm Systems, Fire Fighting System etc. He will assist in carrying out Job Safety Analysis, routine inspection, organizing training programs etc.

  1. QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE: I.T.I. minimum 60% in Mechanical Draughtsman Trade.
  2. JOB DESCRIPTION: The selected candidates will be expected to prepare 2D engineering drawings and 3D models of mechanical assembly, components, Using AutoCAD, MDT software, CATIA. Prepare bill of materials, take measurements of the components and prepare manufacturing drawings. He should be able to read engineering drawings, familiar with all the drawing symbols, procedures and different drafting techniques.

  2. JOB DESCRIPTION: The selected candidate is expected to perform various cutting, drilling and measurements work. Candidate should have a basic knowledge of 2-D drawings. The candidate should have a minimum experience of 1 year in this field.

Sl.No.17 TRADESMAN (PROJECT) (ELECTRONICS MECHANIC) (No. of Posts-2)

  1. QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE: I.T.I. minimum 60% in Electronics Mechanic Trade.
  2. JOB DESCRIPTION: The selected candidates will be required to do cable laying, assembling of electronic circuits, soldering of components and ICs on PCB. They should have skill to solder and de solder various packages such as SMD and QFP. They should also assist in testing, repairing, maintaining and installing power supplies and analog signal condition cards.

Sl.No.18 TRADESMAN (PROJECT) (ELECTRICIAN) (No. of Post-1)

  1. QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE: I.T.I. minimum 60% in Electrician Trade.
  2. JOB DESCRIPTION: The incumbent will be required to do cable laying, Electrical Panel assembly and wiring. Will also assist in the installation, testing, maintenance and operation of various electrical systems like power supplies, transformers, measuring systems etc.

  1. IPR has a special well equipped library with latest information technology providing specialized services to Scientific Community. The selected candidate will be trained in different library activities such as Acquisition, Circulation, References, Inter Library Loan, handling of e-resources, Information services etc. and will get an exposure to work in fully computerized library and with new IT Tools.
  2. QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE : Post Graduate in Library and Information Science (above 55% marks) with knowledge of Computer. Trainees will be required to work in shifts.

REMUNERATION for the post from Sl.No. 1 to 7 Consolidated Rs.38000/- p.m., Sl.No.8 to 13 Consolidated Rs.25000/- p.m., Sl.No.14 Consolidated Rs.23000/-p.m. Sl.No.15 to 18 Consolidated Rs13000/- p.m. STIPEND for the Library Trainees at Sl.No. 19 Consolidated Rs.10000/- p.m. for first six months and thereafter Rs.12000/- p.m.

Only Indian Nationals need to apply. Those who have attended interview for similar posts in the past one-year need not apply. The number of vacancies indicated above is provisional and may be increased / decreased depending on the actual requirement of the organisation. All the above posts are purely temporary for a period of one year OR co-terminus with the project. AGE LIMIT : Engineer / Scientist (Project) and Scientific / Technical Assistant (Project) / Office Assistant / Library Trainees – 30 years Tradesman / Draughtsman (Project) – 25 years. Age relaxation is admissible to SC / ST / OBC / PHP / Ex-servicemen candidates, as per Government of India orders on the subject. In addition to pay and allowances, Medical Scheme facility under its Contributory Health Service Scheme (self only), Free Transport and subsidized Canteen facilities are admissible for the above posts. Experience should have been obtained after possessing the essential educational qualifications. The eligibility criteria with regard to age, qualification, experience, etc. shall be determined as on 31/10/2013. Sleeper Class / Second Class to and fro Rail / State Transport bus fare by direct and shortest route will be reimbursed to out-station candidates called for interview on production of ticket or proof of journey such as Railway / Bus ticket or ticket no.
